Australian Trivia Only

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

You have it Bruce and you must have been lucky as most searches bring up the the Darling Harbour Railway Tunnel in Sydney which was cut in 1855 and is mistakenly claimed as the oldest. The rail tunnel to the Burwood Colliery at Glenrock Lagoon just south of Newcastle is the oldest. The railway began in the 1840's as a horse drawn timber rail and later converted to iron rails and steam. The Merewether tunnel was constructed in 1849, 11 years before the Darling Harbour Railway Tunnel making the Burwood Tunnel the oldest rail tunnel in Australia.

Your go Bruce

Spot on!
I started doing our family tree way back when Google was a baby & I could never work out exactly where she was born.
It was/is on her birth certificate. Makes things a bit hard when they change the name of towns!
Like .......... who knew Murray Bridge was Edwards Crossing not that long ago?
Over to you Ron!
