Australian Trivia Only

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Trim, the captain's cat, who would sit at the table and try to swipe food off the forks of visitors.
Mathew Flinders was the loyal subject of Trim ( if you think it should be Trim was owned by Captain Mathew Flinders , you've never had a cat)
The pair had many adventures, and while Flinders was under house arrest in the Mauritius Islands Trim went walkabout and never returned.
There's a statue of Trim outside the Mitchell Library, Sydney.

There's a book by Bryce Courtney about Trim the cat

Like most of Bryce Courtney's books, it's easy reading and has a lot of historical facts blended into the story.
So if you like that type of storyline I'd recommend it.
But in my opinion this story doesn't have an interesting storyline as some of his other books, but then I find books like the Tao of Pooh Bear and the Te of Piglet interesting, where this type of book sends most other readers to sleep.
I'm an avid reader and can finish most books in 2 - 3 days, and Bryce Courtney has slowly faded off my "Must Read" list.

"tanks" here---Ron,
Search out books by PETER WATT to replace Bryce on your "Must Read" list.
Start with: Cry of the Curlew, Shadow of the Osprey, Flight of the Eagle, To Chase the Storm, Papua, Eden, The Silent Frontier.
