Australian Trivia Only

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Ok a double quick questions. Who is the woman who crossed Australia through desserts with 4 camels and a dog, then wrote a book called ?. Who was left for dead after being abducted on the Buntine Highway in 2006, he was finally rescued after 3 mths after walking 10 days and living beside a dam on a remote NT cattle property.

I know the story of the woman with the camels and the dog. But the other one might need a bit of research.

Apology accepted. 😜
I, too, remember the story. I think it was the first story to be illustrated on CD when they were new technology. Had a copy. Ditched it when USB thumb drives became The Thing. (New laptop was also sans CD slot. 😕)
Name escapes me... Sarah someone?

Robyn Davidson wrote the book Tracks after her adventure with the camels & dog.

Ricky Megee was the fellow that was abducted & survived the ordeal.

Shirley,
Looks like you're IT! :D

BTW, what's the story with the shark attack in Lake Mac?
All we're getting in Vic is that it happened. No details on where or when....

EDIT: Just read your last night's post. Where "across the Lake" was it?? Toronto? Morriset?
Was he a local?

Ray, it was at Yarrawonga park in Bonnells Bay, he was a 58 yr., old man swimming, attacked his arm below the elbow.

Folklore saying first attack for decades, last one at Rathmines in 1969, certainly been a lot more sighting reported in the lake over the last couple of years, guess the professional fishermen use to catch many of them when they were still operating.
