Why I won't passenger in a WWII Jeep...

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Just like all the early Nissans, Toyota's and Landrovers, never mind the VW beetles with it suspended above the front seat passengers legs so that in a prang they got soaked in petrol just before the rear seat springs shorted out the battery mounted underneath!

Petrol isn't quite as flammable as people think.
On a very hot day with fumes coming off petrol it can be 'interesting'.
On a coolish day I won $10 by extinguishing a ciggy in a small open container of petrol.

When learning woodturning, I was warned not to let anyone smoke nearby when I was sanding... wood-dust and air can be more volatile than petrol!
Same goes for flour... that's why some windmills in UK went BOOM!
We visited a windmill in Tas, and smoking was prohibited inside. Not just because they still manufactured food products, but because visitors were allowed inside to watch the milling process, which created much flour dust.
Cotton mills also had a dust problem early in the industrial revolution.
And woollen mills were a fire hazard, but their problem was more to do with lanoline, not dust.
