Car Cover...

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Car Cover...

Post by Chuck »

Looking for a lightweight car cover... mainly to keep the dust & bird crap off the car... even in the garage it still gets dusty, probably due to the gap above the roller door.

Have been looking in nearly all the motor type places but all seem to have the heavy duty types that are very bulky.

Ended up buying one from Supercheap - it's intended for SUV(M) which is what our car is - 2018 VW Tiguan Comfortline - but it's still too big & cumbersome although it does protect the car from 'everything' except WAR!!

Looking for a lightweight cotton/canvas style that may be water resistant but not necessarily water proof.

The older silver top type comes to mind.

Car dimensions are:

L...440 cm
W..190 cm
H..170 cm (incl wheels which do not need to be covered)

If anyone has suggestions as to where to find one of these I'd be extremely grateful... manhandling this current one is exhausting.

When you find one Chuck be sure to put some old stretchy socks over the rear view mirrors to stop it rubbing the paint off the plastic.
Been there, done that! Ended up just letting the sun shine on it!

Well now, how good is this mob! :D

Spot on David... picked one out & ordered, should be here by 19 Jun. (oops had July instead of Jun...sorry).

Bruce, I have a vague recollection of hearing that somewhere previously... will definitely give it a go.

Thanks gentlemen.

According to the pics I saw on that link, the covers have handy little pockets to cover the mirrors...
And around Australia Day, you can buy mirror socks with the Oz flag on them... :P
(No good for our Supercar... they'd cover the indicator repeaters. :( )
Regards & God bless,
