A Tad Dampish

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

We had 2mm so I hope you're glad I sent it on over!!!
I bet the farmers are happy we didn't have much here, that would have spoiled the crops & hay making going on.

Does that mean some will make it to the river and we might see some fresh stuff down this way? Or will it all go to the water stealers for the their nut tree crops that were paid for by tax payers via their Canberra mates?

Bruce,
I'd say 'Thanks' were it not for the fact that I've spent half the morning cleaning over an inch of mud (our back yard) off the carport concrete...and I'm only half-way finished!
Had to break for lunch.
Pics will follow...

Be snap shot necklace type photo to fit in that side frame Ray, hopefully we can enlarge it. Did any make it to the river or did you hog it all?

T1,
We're 10km from the Murray, so it'll take a while... although, we are south of the river, and our block does slope to the north...

Took another 90 minutes to get the sludge off the carport.

Here's the pix:

This is what I picked up with the square-mouth shovel.
01 - Stage 1 - shovel.jpg
Then I used the yard broom.
02 Stage 2 - broom.jpg
Almost swept up...
03 Stage 2 - almost.jpg
Next stage was using the hose on the fine layer of mud & the dust the wind blew back from my sweeping.
04 Stage 3 - hose.jpg
This was made slightly harder, as I was using the pressure of the hose to push muddy water up a slope. :?
This is where the slope reverses and it's downhill to the driveway.
05 Stage 3 - halfway.jpg
Clean at last! :? Until the next storm.

Oh, and to forestall the helpful suggestions:
1. We have tried for 5 1/2 years to grow grass on the slope above the carport. A border of Eucalypts prevents success.
(Previous owner's planting... some will go next year  )
2. I can't put a low brick barrier in, because it's our vehicle access to the back yard.
3. Even if I did put a one-brick-high barrier in, it would be buried within 5 years. Has already happened with a garden border which was 1 brick-height clear of ground level when we moved in... the border on the upper side is now buried.

Couldn't add this to the previous post, but I found the pic of the brick border of the last-mentioned point above.

When we moved in, these bricks were entirely above ground level!
