Hi Ray yes I know what you wrote but believe me I am correct. Just never let her get you down and if she does climb back up and keep going. See you on the Wallaby one day. Cheers

Re: Greynomad
Morning all.
Pain is a bugger of an alarm clock.
Been told treatment for broken ribs is basically rest & painkillers.
Pneumonia risk just adds to the equation.
Have warm moist oxygen pumping up my nose for that.
Latest treatment was an ‘intercostal block’ — multiple injections of anaesthetic along my spine to ease the pain.
Works well. Got an uninterrupted night’s sleep.
Just tried rolling onto my damaged side, which woke me with a start.
Son-and-heir dropped everything to come from Melbourne with g’daughter when Joy called him. Arrived Monday pm.
As an ICU nurse himself, his presence was a big help. Has explained stuff the nurses don’t have time to chat about.
Although I have been taken off the ‘serious’ list, it’s still touch ‘n’ go with the pneumonia risk ever-present.
Thanks for your concern and wishes.
Ps. Second CAT scan revealed that I achieved an almost-perfect score: broke ELEVEN of my 12 ribs.

"tanks" here---Ray.
I AM THINKING OF YOU AT THIS TIME MATE,
Try not to laugh, cough, fart or sneeze at this stage.
Keep your pecker up---I think that means "be happy"
When you are with it enough the physio will work on the lungs and breathing to allay the pneumonia risks --AHH PAIN, but perservere with it, next week is another week and one less to Christmas 2020.
Keith.

Re: Greynomad
Hi Ray forget the pneumonia as you are in the right place for treatment. The first four christmases we came to SA to visit the daughter I ended up in hospital with it and survived no problems. Even now just going through about which nearly put me in again.
Pain relief is good use it as advised and no problems there, as you said it is a shit of an alarm so if popping a couple of pills help do it.
Just keep the spirit and humour going and I am sure it will be fine but will just take time. Cheers Robert

"tanks" here---young fella.
Year 2021 Christmas is too far into the future for me. I only take one month at a time now days, so the aim is to complete year 2020.
Start saving up for presents.
Keith.

Re: Greynomad
Pneumonia and broken ribs don't mix. You can't cough to clear the lungs. Hence the concern.
