Some real Australian facts...

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Some real Australian facts...

Post by Chuck »

but don't ask where they came from - simple version - off my pooter screen. :D

If you had bought $1000 worth of Qantas shares one year ago.
You would have made $49.00 today.

If you had bought $1000 worth of AIG shares one year ago.
You would have made $33.00 today.

If you had bought $1000 worth of Lehman Brothers Shares one year ago.
You would have made $0.00 today.

BUT .... If you purchased $1000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer then returned the cans for recycling...
You would have made $214.00 today.

So based on above, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily and recycle !!

AND DID YOU KNOW......

A recent study found that the average Australian walks 1440 kilometres a year.

Another study found the average Australian consumes 83 litres of alcohol a year.

That means on average AUSSIES get 17.4 kms to a litre.

MAKES YOU PROUD TO BE AN AUSSIE... DOESN’T IT ??

Chuck, can you check the working out on the beer recycle rate please. I just showed the cook as a means to justify drinking more beer. She reckons it's way less than that. :?
Not sure about the mileage either. If I drink too much beer I just fall over and don't go anywhere

Must have found a place you can buy beer cheaper than Aldi blue label light. $25 per carton, 40 cartons for $1000 = 40 x 24 = 960 bottles. 10c refund per bottle only comes out to $96, still better than the return on the other investments and you actually have something for the $1,000. If the other investments guaranteed the $1,000 would be still available 12 mths later and the returns were after brokers fees and tax, then the beer might not be the best $$ return.
Now if you invested in Hahn Superdry, you might not get as much on the recycling due to less container returns, but think of all the mates you'd have
You can't buy happiness, but you can buy beer, sort of a liquid asset
