President Clown’s Unbeatable Logic

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Brainless people need someone with a stick to control them.
Hands up who really thought that BLM rally in Melbourne was a good thing?
How were they allowed to get away with it?
Gimme a stick ...... one that smokes a lot!
Ummm...... The Covid spread has already been traced back to the sources, and it wasn't from any rallies, so trying to put the blame onto a protest rallies is just as bad as some of the nonsense president clown spews out.
Sure, the close contact of that many people was an unnecessary risk, but no more so than the idiots packing into shopping centres, indoors .... at least the rally people wore masks and did practice some sort of social distancing ... then what about families who traditionally gathered together as the massive extended family group, lots of kisses and hand shakes, all in close contact and all sharing the same table and probably the same serving implements .... can you think of a better way to get the virus onto the face or into the mouth ..... then think about the aerosol spread inside a closed room ..... just like night clubs and parties .... the rallies were actually held outside ........
Did anyone watch the two Covid specials on SBS last night, a lot of real information came out there, not Farcebook beat up stuff

The whole herd immunity thing was well explained. Even though some who were infected for the second time, they showed no symptoms yet were highly contagious. The herd immunity comes into play when no one shows symptoms or is affected by the virus, it might still be rampant in the community but with no one suffering any ill effects life returns to some sort of normal, everyone develops enough anti bodies from the reinfections that the reproduction rate (RO number actually referred to as R naught) drops below 1 and the virus dies out due to a lack of hosts. An example of how an R0=2 causes a mass pandemic https://labblog.uofmhealth.org/rounds/h ... e-covid-19

President Clown was asked t'other day for his thoughts on the tragic bushfires (forest fires?) in California.
His response:
My thoughts are with the people on this terrible, terrible day. But they should have cleaned up all the fallen leaves & branches.

:?

Maybe that's our problem. We should organise an emu parade through the Australian bush before this summer's fire season.

I think it's called back burn.
Something I did a lot when I lived in an area that could be threatened by bush fires.

Then USA uses a lot of tarred and shingle roofs, very prone to fires.

Would the be a better method than the Ostrich method of burying heads in the sand? Yeah, I know it's a myth, they are actually turning their eggs that are buried in a sand hole, but that didn't work well with the Emu comparison ;)

Maybe in some states, but I doubt they do that where it gets real hot or prone to wildfires, the tar would melt in the heat, just like the roads do over here. It would be a bit like attempting to cart block ice on a flat bed trailer through Death Valley in summer
Pity we don't have official BOM weather stations across the stretch known as the Nullarbor but really means anywhere from Norseman to about Ceduna. It gets real hot out there but it doesn't get officially recorded, I'm sure it would exceed the Death Valley max the other day of 54*C

Terry, as someone born in Canada I can say the primary reason for their use is weight. They allow a much larger snow load than terra cotta or cement.
Sheet metal roofing is only just starting to take off in some instances. The main reason that was avoided for many decades is because it allows snow slip too easily.
This is where the snow builds up to an extent where gravity takes over and a LARGE chunk of frozen snow lets go and crashes to the ground. Often with very dangerous results. What I saw on my last trip there were wires strung along the leading edge that holds the chunk back, or slices it into smaller pieces (Depending on who I asked)
I understand the use of the word "tar" to describe them but there actually a form of asphalt. Contrary to popular belief, it does get hot in Canada. They're coming out of summer right now and my niece has posted several screenshots of her phone showing low 40's in temp. Plus, the area around the great lakes becomes very humid. Think Townsville type humidity.
I've never known asphalt tiles to get soft.
They have a life expectancy of approx 20 years.

A lot of the US gets hot too.

I used to do many trips to the Bay area and up to to Roseville CA. Some stinkers in summer.
