At one election in past years I wasn’t happy with any of the candidates.
So I wrote on the ballot paper, “None of the above. Please rewrite and resubmit.”
Didn’t make any difference.
Rusted-on voters ensured the sitting member was returned. 😡🙄

Received this information through one of my email accounts, it describes how the tracing app Aus is using, what it does and can be used for. There are a number of protocols used for virus tracing apps, a couple are pretty safe and don't collect much info and are pretty private to use.

The one they are trying to force upon the Aus people is a tracker and collects large amounts of data from your ph. That's why it drains the battery of so many people, it's constantly collecting and sending your data. If you don't use your ph much then it wouldn't be collecting much, but those who live on their phone's data collection is constant. You can go to the link to read it all, pretty interesting and very logical from a technical aspect. Even with this rapid rise in cases, the app is yet to identify one case anywhere.

https://protonmail.com/blog/privacy-con ... _term=mail

"The Pan-European Privacy-Preserving Proximity Tracing (PEPP-PT) and BlueTrace protocols rely on Bluetooth to send and receive temporary ID codes to log encounters between individuals. They also are open source, minimize the amount of data collected, and do not collect geo-location data. However, PEPP-PT and BlueTrace rely on a centralized server to generate the temporary ID codes, which an analysis from the DP-3T developers claims could let the server identify the individual behind any temporary code and trace their movements.

PEPP-PT and BlueTrace also rely on centralized report processing. If you test positive for COVID-19 and you are using one of these apps, you must upload your entire contact log to a central server. The central server then matches your log to the contact details of everyone you encountered and sends out a warning. While this does allow health professionals to verify encounters, which can reduce the number of false positives, this creates a massive database that can be exploited or abused. Moreover, whoever operates this database has access to far more data than is needed to prevent the spread of the virus.

Countries that have adopted or support apps that use PEPP-PT or BlueTrace (or a similar protocol that uses centralized report processing) include:

UK
France
Australia
New Zealand
Singapore"

Either people in the Melbourne and surrounding areas didn't download the app, or it didn't do what it was supposed to do as far as fast tracing community contacts to limit the spread. That's the trouble with selling something as a "fix for a potential problem," the general public gets a false sense of security and relax the social distancing and other Covid safe actions and the whole lot goes to shitte.
Interesting to see that denying it's a problem doesn't work either, I wonder if Donald Trump will follow in Jair Blosonaro's lead and contract the "little flu" virus ......

We can only hope the Rump catches it and soon, it may bring some sanity to the USA and the planet. The app still hasn't detected a case, wonder how much it cost, especially when the Vic government gave KPMG huge amounts of money to set up and organise the response and hotel quarantining to this latest outbreak and we all know how well that turned out.

I can't say we really know how any of the future will turn out, but govts do tend to repeat the same thing expecting a different result.
I certainly don't wish the Covid 19 virus on anyone, but if they do catch it because of their own silliness then my sympathy level is some what reduced.
it may bring some sanity to the USA and the planet Not all the planet's population are treating this pandemic with disregard for any potential outcomes. I do seriously wonder if there isn't an underlying intent by some leaders to "cull the herd", so to speak, in an attempt to make a stronger workforce for the future and if there is a real possibility that this end game will turn out the way they are thinking it will ... will the survivors be immune to catching it a second time and not severely health compromised as a result of this particular virus leaving them vulnerable to anything else that comes along.

Not all in the USA have a lapse in "Sanity," but their choice for president over the years sometimes leaves me wondering if they are part of a minority group .....

My comment on bringing sanity to the planet, was in relation to the Rumps approach to foreign relationships. Wouldn't reducing the herd, be against the economic aims of the elites, they rely upon population growth for economic and profit growth. Immigration to Aus is all about more consumers to drive economic growth and it appears that seems to go for most developed countries, which logically is pure insanity.

I agree with you on this
The last Pres O'Bummer tries to socialise ( Communise ) the country and nearly did it with Moslem appointees in every major position, security and trade.

Then the last bit of insanity is some Afro-American that's better known for "Rap" and marrying a Kardashian is saying he's going to give it a try.

I just thank my spirits that I don't live in "Godzone Country" and have to actually vote on which idiot to have up on the world stage.

That wouldn't have a socio-political bias would it Ron  If Obama-care had survived, those who possibly knew they had the virus would have been able to afford medical care. Instead, they just continue to go to their low paid job so they could put food on the table while spreading the virus to all who come into contact with them, and so the virus spreads. These people could either recover of die at home or on the street, but their case of Covid 19 would never be recorded because they were never tested or admitted to a hospital ..... so the severity of infection in certain areas is under estimated because a lot of the numbers are not recorded. It will al sort itself out in the end, yet to see if America remains a "Super Power" with the "Strongest Economy in the World" after the Virus runs its course. Any country that puts the almighty $$ before its people is going to pay the ultimate price, the loss of dominance making them susceptible to all the things the rest of the world's countries have to fight off.
I think it is a very sensible approach the govt here is talking and looking for other power bases to support it when required, the USA might not have the military might to defend us as well as defend itself .....
