Qld Border Closure - RELAX EVERYONE!!

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Qld Border Closure - RELAX EVERYONE!!

Post by Greynomad »

Well, we can all relax now!
Anastacia Paluschzyk Annie Plasterboard The Queensland Premier has declared that AFL Football players are not contagious, disease-ridden Victorians like the rest of us.
That's why she's letting them leave the Covid-19 sewer that is Melbourne for sunnier climes in her state.
The rest of us pariahs are forbidden to approach within sneezing distance of her pure-as-the-driven-snow state.

:? Oh, and the families of the footballers are not contagious either... so they can join the players basking in the Sunshine State.

Her argument is that they will be good for the state's economy.

So are hordes of Grey Nomads who have not been within cooee of the virus. But we don't count, do we.

Ray, there are plenty of Victorians roaming around in Qld. They must have done the bolt way back in May or June, before Melbourne went viral. Once you are out of Vic you only have to prove that you haven't been there for 14 days and all is good. I don't know why everyone is bagging the Qld Premier ( I can't spell her name properly either) as I don't think you can go to SA, WA or NT either. If you are from any of the Sydney hotspots you can't get in either, unless you are really stupid and tell lies to get in.
I don't know why they have let in the AFL and their families unless they ALL know something that we don't.

Bruce, I reckon you're right. It's slowly marching though the country. Queenslanders sent the cane toad south.... we're - oh never mind.

The AFL is all about big money, not the sport any more

I reckon everyone should stay home in their own state & if it spreads more should isolate as much as possible, it's certainly not over yet.

I was pondering this a little today; in someways, I think it's being allowed to keep some form of social coherence (or something) that is trying to keep peoples moral up.

It's certainly not for money as there are/will be limited crowds per match to drive revenue.

Very little money from fans paying to see the game but big money in TV rights and advertising.

Shorty,
I think you've hit the head on the nail... or have I got that wrong way 'round again... ;)

(BTW Jon, it's "people's morale". :) Can't help myself.)

AHA!! The fog is beginning to lift!
On the late news Annie Plasterboard said, "As we're hosting most of the AFL games, it stands to reason that we should host the Grand Final."

It was all a cunning plot to steal the GF away from Victoria!

"Good riddance." say I.
The bloody gummint declared a public holiday (officially only in Melbourne) for a bloody football game! :o

WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO??

Next thing, we'll have a public holiday for a flamin' horse race!

What's that? We do? Oh.
It seems we already have a public holiday for a horse race somewhere in Victoria. Some fancy cup or other as a prize...

You've sucked me in again, Ray. It depends on your point.
