No Reason, it’s just Policy

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Ray, do you honestly expect that the gubment will respond to your email. Silence to criticism is their greatest tool.

Good luck. Most of the complaints that the news services seem to be carrying at the mo' are a lack of response from any government body. They all seem to be ducking and diving and aren't prepared to admit that they dont give a rats......

Some years ago, I had a problem with Centrelink.
They continued paying me a benefit after I advised them three times by phone and twice by paper letter that I was no longer eligible.
I then received a letter of demand from them for the overpaid amount (about $3500). With threats.
One email to the right person and I received not only a letter of apology from the CEO, withdrawing the demand, but they wiped the debt and let me keep the money, admitting it was their stuff-up.

I think you are both correct. What started as Medibank back in the 70's evolved into Medicare somewhere along the line didnt it?

David,
You’re right. Medibank hived off part of the publicly funded stuff to create Medicare (according to my sometimes reliable memory) to compete with the private funds & recoup some of what was until then 100% outgoings.
