New cast iron

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Twenty-five years ago, I was told it would be probably be within two weeks.
However my wonderful SWMBO told the Drs to treat me with everything in their arsenal.
At one stage, the Radiologist told me that if I had one more session of radiotherapy I’d glow in the dark!
It took me (and my oncologists β€” I outlasted three) just over 22 years to beat the cancer into submission.
So I guess I’m here for a good few more years. 😁
SUFFER, people!

Ones on the left were a tad smaller than I expected. Still bought 'em.

Not sure if I'll leave them bare iron or paint them satin black, like the boot lasts.

SWMBO has decreed β€œENUFF!”
My boot last collection now numbers 23. Only three are duplicates. (One not in pic β€” being used as a doorstop, ironically. 🀭)
I have seven doorstops.
No duplicates.
SWMBO says the display can’t remain in the lounge room, but must return to the bay window in the dining room, where the maximum number it can accomodate is 12. 😟
And I’m not allowed to build a shelf. πŸ˜₯
Thanks to Dot & George, Bruce (Brucie2) and Brian (Homeless) for variously spotting and buying on my behalf.
Gunna concentrate on doorstops for a while. πŸ˜œπŸ‘
Also gunna get back into The Playpen and do a bit more woodturning. After all, when we moved from Melbourne, I brought about ½ tonne of assorted woods with me... better get on with the job. 😁
Lasts.jpeg
(Note left-handed last, at far left, appropriately.)
Doorstops.jpeg
Kookaburra is the heavyweight of the collection... 11.6kg!
Cat is next at 7.6kg, while Rooster doesn't even register, so is less than 1.0kg.
