This week’s project

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

This week’s project

Post by Greynomad »

Bought the materials for this herb garden box last December.
Minor delay encountered in January: failed attempt at low flying.
Then winter happened. As it is made from eight sleepers, it is too heavy to move, and had to be built in situ.
Weather has finally warmed enough to work outdoors. Took two days to build & fill (with existing herbs in pots of assorted sizes & colours — repotted in uniform sized pots). 😀

Treated pine?

If it is, just be aware of the poisons used in some types of treated pine.

Aware of that.
All herbs in pots, no soil contact with box.
Plan is to fill around pots with sawdust.

Of course, keeping the dirt in the pots is a problem...

I liked it the first way. You could just hold a bowl underneath and snip the herbs straight in.
