Between a Rock & a Hard Place

Post by Greynomad »

Just rediscovered this clipping, quoting from the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron's magazine, Seabreeze:

The incident apparently took place near the coast of Newfoundland on 10/10/1995...

YANK ON RADIO: Please divert your course 15°N to avoid collision.
CANADIAN RADIO OPERATOR: Recommend you divert YOUR course 15°S to avoid collision.
YANK: This is the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln, second-largest ship in the US Atlantic Fleet. We are accompanied by three destroyers, three cruisers and numerous support vessels. I DEMAND you change course or countermeasures will be undertaken.
CANADIAN: This is a lighthouse. Your call.
:?
