What aspect of the size scares you J ?

Is it the thought of towing or parking ?

Lance I reckon it is those huge yank ones that look like a semi about to run over a small car ie those Wildcat ones.

Yes Dot, fell through, so many of them front up but when you get near the contract stage turns out they have no money, in one form or another.
Like " I will require $1M in vendor finance" at contract stage, no discussion beforehand !!!!!
Or turns out they have about 6 lenders to get the amount, all wanting security ?
Bloody ejits.
The buyers are an Indian family, were banana growers so know about hard work, they will do well. Buying land and business so totally shot of the lot.

I dragged one around the big island with an Iveco for many years.
Our length overall was 100mm longer than a friend with his conventional van and a RangeRover. We had 2.5 meters more living space.
Our weights were also similar. We were a bit heavier but well under the combined limit for the Iveco.
We were much more stable in a cross-wind.
I could stand up in the bedroom.

The boss had far too much hanging space in the wardrobe...

Used to have Iveco towing a 5th Wheeler
Now back to dreaming again...

GoinBush wrote: Sat Jan 06, 2018 1:08 pm I love the idea of one but looking at the huge things scares the bejeesus out of me

Has anyone towed one? Are they as frighteningly huge and cumbersome as they look?
5th wheelers are a safer option than a caravan as the hitch point is a lot closer to the rear axle of the ute than hanging your caravan up to 1.5m behind the rear axle on a towbar requiring all sorts of safety devices to tow safely. You will have a bigger living space when compared with a car and caravan with the same total length, but if you go down this path, make sure you do lots of research before you buy. You can get 5th wheelers from approx 23ft right up to the 40ft behemoths. You are only limited by your budget.
