Similar story.
I was told I had about TWO WEEKS once the cancer was correctly diagnosed.
That was September 1994.
Nuff sed.

My other Terry (dec) did lectures at the local tech school when he needed more in his life and loved seeing the kids learn

I was sent to Peter Mc Callum clinic, to undergo chemo and radiation. After 2 sessions decided would be better of dead than undergo the horrific effects of their treatments, which back then had a success rate of zero and today, it's less than 5%. They claim success is living 5 years after diagnosis, having known many who went down that path, very few come out the other side outside a box. Whilst those I know who have taken the diet lifestyle approach, most have come out the other side reasonably healthy and alive. Sadly a couple didn't make it, but they had cases that were diagnosed very late and beyond help. But they did extend their lives and without the trauma of chemo and radiation poisoning, using great natural pain relief.
If it came back, would take a big dive off a high cliff and enjoy the flight down, rather then go through all that stress and trauma again.

Similar story with Bruce, we were told by Oncologist at St Vincent's hospital, Sydney to go home & get his affairs in order that he had maybe 12 mths., to live in 2001,we consider that lifestyle & diet have played a part with him still being alive today, we feel really blessed.

Re: It was on the cards to happen, just didn't expect it 6 mths after
After I came out of hospital, we attended a seminar by some one-legged Vet who championed a vegan diet to cure everything from flatulence to cancer.
Told SWMBO I wasn't eating rabbit food for the rest of my life — however long or short that may be.
So I didn't change my diet. (Joy is an excellent cook, and well aware of dietary requirements for a healthy life)
I DID go through the chemo & radiation therapy. Yes, it was unpleasant at times, but I reckon it saved my life several times when the cancer resurfaced.
I was on pills (cos we travelled for 3 years doing the Big Lap) from 1995 to 2016 when I was declared in remission.
No regrets about following medical advice.
And I'm still here to enjoy life and see our granddaughter grow up.
She wasn't even on the horizon when I was diagnosed.
Her father was 15 at the time.
He's now 40...

Re: It was on the cards to happen, just didn't expect it 6 mths after
A good mates wife has had cancer on and off for the last 20 plus yrs. The last one was bone cancer and the oncologist told the mate that this would be the end of it .... but she did the medical treatment and came back from it, just like all the times before. She is an ex nurse so strongly believes in the medical profession's ability to treat it every time.
I think that is the real healer, believing strongly enough that their chosen course of action will lead to the desired outcome. The body is an amazing machine, convince the brain that something will work and the brain will coordinate the required systems to achieve that result.
Not sure if anyone watched those Dr Mosley weekly series on medical practices and there effectiveness. One episode was on the placebo effect and trying to change the concept that it was all in the mind to triggering the brain to respond and to trigger the bodies own healing powers. An amazing outcome from the blind trial because actually none of the patients got the new trial drug, they all got a placebo. There were those that were convinced they were on the placebo pills so saw no improvement and those who saw an improvement after a few doses and were convinced they were on the real thing and gradually turned around a chronic condition purely by believing they had a miracle drug.
There was another specialist that treated the bone spurs in the shoulder by making the patient believe they had the op and pushing through the pain barrier and complete the physio therapy that really did fix the problem.
The mind is an extremely complex thing and the way it can heal the body as long as it believes it can do it is still not fully understood, but I believe that is the real item that affects these cures.
I'm yet to convince my mind that I can see properly again, but who knows ......

Re: It was on the cards to happen, just didn't expect it 6 mths after
I went through the Peter Mc Callum clinic regime and after 3 sessions, never went back the side effects were so horrendous and only made me feel much worse. So found my own way to overcome it and it worked. Put the right food into your body and you get results, you wouldn't put petrol or diesel in your radiator, or water in the sump, so why put crap biologically destructive food in your body and suffer the outcomes.
Our minds are powerful but you can't fix something whilst continuing to consume the causes, no amount of mind power can do that. But you can do something positive by combining the two, which was something I did and it worked for me.
