I know some of you don't believe me on this subject saying "my dog always has eaten cooked bones and no troubles" YET. Think of the dog and what could/may happen.
A must read!!!!
The Society for Animals in Distress 2019
WARNING
Cooked Bones can cause serious complications and DEATH
During an emergence surgery early this morning at The Society for Animals in Distress almost a kilogram of bones had to be removed from the stomach and intestine a 2 year Pitbull. This very loved pet is left fighting for his life through a simple act of ignorance.
Bones can cause intestinal obstructions, choke, puncture holes through the intestines, fracture teeth and a multitude of other problems - it's just not worth it!!

Re: Must read and heed
I was advised by a vet to feed our Labrador one raw neck of mutton per day, he survived until 12yo. Unfortunately, neck of mutton has now become a human's delicacy.

Cooked bones, sun dried, dried bones. They all become hard, sharp and brittle.

Brisket bones are the best, it really isn't bone as such and all of it can be eaten.

Agree, Dot,
In 45 years of having Labradors, we’ve NEVER given any of our dogs cooked bones!
Too dangerous.

After a couple of events that required medical intervention poor old Bandit no longer is allowed to chew on bones of any description, cooked or raw.
Cheers

"tanks" here---David,
Thanks for that.
As Major is now around 8 years old and has lost a few teeth, I will consider the "no bone" track with him.
I was taughtr to be cautious-- etc.
