No I didn't , if I did there would have been red and blue flashing party lights , lots of people wearing uniforms at home waiting for me(and handcuffs) Rita misses nothing.

One reason we have decided not to go north this winter… the other being the fact that the parts of Qld we like are mostly submerged.

Diesel is going up a few cents per day in Mannum, didn't look this morning, but yesterday it had crept up to $2.35/ltr, add the 25c that will return after the 50% excise discount ends and that's $2.60/ltr. So not that far off the insane Perth trip costs.
We did note at the Balranald truck stop there was a note on the fuel pump to stop at $999.99 and reset the pump, the console at the service desk would record the figure and add the next amount to it  When I asked a truckie about it with a laugh he said he had just put $1250.00 of diesel in his truck and it wasn't empty, it was just that fuel there was cheaper than anywhere on his trip through to Dubbo ...... The price of diesel has gone up since then ...... :o I don't know how the service stations or the trucking companies are keeping the cash flow going cover the fuel bills alone, the owner drivers would be in an even worse financial position.

We have already determined that unless the fuel price has dropped a lot, either we install a hydrid electric drive to the Hino or we simply can not afford to go anywhere in it .....

The Hino ran out of fuel again in the same spot  Lucky Margaret had refilled the 10 ltr diesel container a day before ..... At the most that was 4 trips from the workshop to the marina and back for $25 of diesel :o 9.8km return according to Google maps so 40km at best ....... $1.60km, just for fuel .....
The loaded B triples are getting around 1km/ltr I'm told, no wonder the cost of everything is going through the roof
