Woman, 78, stable after dog attack at Tinana

A 78-YEAR-OLD woman was rushed to hospital with severe lacerations to her face after a dog attack at a Tinana caravan park on Thursday.

Eunice Greenhalgh remains in a stable condition in Hervey Bay Hospital after she was bitten by a male staffordshire terrier.

The attack happened about 3.50pm at the Country Stopover Caravan Park.

Her husband Barrie said she was recovering from the trauma of the attack, but as she suffered from Alzheimer's, that had compounded the tragedy.

The couple live at the caravan park and Mr Greenhalgh said it was a neighbour's dog that had attacked his wife.

Michael Bruce, a witness who saw the attack, told Channel 7 Local News that the woman had been patting a female staffy when the male dog "took offence" and lunged at her
