Dot we have fake lawn in a couple of places in our new back yard looks great does get hot, ours is laid on sand as this is what was recommended to us, as some as said you get what you pay for our was not cheap but love it. I can send you a little sample if you would like.

Dottie,
Son & Heir has fake grass on the nature-strip... vacuums it every week, and after strong winds deposit tree debris on it.
Looks good, has lasted well, and as I wear shoes when visiting, I don't know if it's hot underfoot in summer! :D
It's laid on concrete, but I've never noticed it as hard on the feet to walk over. (O'course, it is only 8ft wide... not a great hiking distance!) ;)

Hi Dot just found your question will get the Boss in the next day or two to find details for you, it was not cheap but really good quality.
