Brad, Brad, Brad,  re read the post again    Anyway, at around 11am this morning we get a ph call asking "are you ready"? Oh no it's "that ironing lady" so they arrived and have had scones and lemon slice. Miss Meow had to go to the vets today as where her tooth was taken out 2 + weeks ago an abscess had formed, back onto antibiotics and wash the yucky stuff out each day. Another sunny day so back outside to put more mulch down. Ros & Ivan in for tea tonight before they hit the road Nth tomorrow..

Another Government Study Provides outstanding Results

CSIRO Officials admitted that they found about 200 dead crows on the highway between Noonamah and Palmerston, in Northern Territory, where there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu.

The Territory Government approved and the CSIRO contracted a bird pathologist to examine the remains of all the crows and he confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu, much to everyone’s relief.

However, he determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, and only 2% were killed by car impact. (Didn't know there was a difference!)

The Territory Government then hired an Ornithological Behaviourist to determine the disproportionate percentages for truck versus car kills.

After 18 months of research and $2.7 million spent,

the Ornithological Behaviourist determined the cause in the deaths.

When crows eat road kill, they always set-up a look-out crow

in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger.

His conclusion was that the lookout crow could say “Cah”, but he could not say “Truck”.

I just wanted to make sure that you knew your tax money was being well spent.

  That one reminds me of the stuttering cat joke  The teacher tells the class that only humans stutter, it's a problem that only effects the higher intelligence species like humans. The little girl up the front puts her hand up and tells the teacher her cat stuttered. Intrigued the teacher asked the young child to tell her about it.
"Last week I was in the back yard with my cat and the big dog next door jumped the fence, the cat stuttered fphhh... fphhhh...fphhhhh... but before it could say f***k off the dog grabbed it……"

Little Elly went in for the removal of a nasty lump that I found on her back last week so while her mum is away on holidays we had the surgery done. Well she had it done today and instead of a small cut she has a 6 inch one across her back. Apparently there was another nasty along side the one I found.. How lucky can you get? Call this place the repat for animals or what? Miss Meow has her abscess opened twice a day (from her tooth extraction) and washed out with saline, now Elly will be having her wound done daily with betadine. Poor wee things...

She is still rather groggy but happy enough. Shall put her in the crate tonight so we don't knock her.. When she came home Meow gave her a smooch as if to say "You'll be ok in the morning" but then again it could have been "I have the bed all to myself tonight" Still raining here.
