Have a time and date for the hearing about the tenants complaining about the cleaning costs. G will be doing the honours. Would you believe that the real estate cranky yank said that people just have to "wipe over" surfaces not "clean" them?? She was talking about the sides and back / under the stove. Also said they were disputing the plumbers bill for unblocking the toilet, the toilet was blocked by toilet paper by someone continuing to flush when the bolus of paper was blocking things. That was what made the loo overflow. She also said the tribunals usually hold up the tenants appeal  Shall be gathering all the info we may need and also stuff we may not need. :D :D

Some tenants try to save on the water bill by only flushing periodically or when they can't fit any more paper. Our 2nd last tenant had me hiring an electric eel on a regular basis however, the current tenant doesn't seem to be causing any problems.

Maybe a composting toilet is the way to go? ;)

Wot a novel idea - an indoor pit toilet.

I believe that if it's managed properly, a pit toilet can be very effective and liveable.
The one at Calliope (which NEVER had a chance with all the saboteurs) was set up to use the breeze to advantage.

It rooly bothers me that we flush with drinking water, not to mention water the lawn, etc etc.

I don't flush when I use the lemon tree loo  Remember this in times of water shortages Brad.. If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down.

Not good news Dottie, maybe the techniques have improved over the last 7 yrs so they can fix it good this time, maybe some of those new plastic inserts they have developed might sort out the problems.
