Those dead fish in that second shot are a worry.

When we were heading to the last Barcaldine rally we travelled through the break of a 7 yr plus drought, watched deep gouges being cut into bare dirt banks as the water rushed toward the dry creek beds. At the Nth Bourke pub there were many smiles and stories of kids running around in the rain with an umbrella after being told that was what they were really made for, not for keeping the sun off you, dogs going crazy because they'd never experience rain before in their lives, many of the kids couldn't remember ever seeing it for real, only on the television. Then the pub owner won the day with his story about teaching frogs to swim

Good news at last

Time is passing too quickly so live life to the full with your spouse/partner while you still have she/he by your side.

Yep the fires have been dampened nicely but they are saying they may still burn for weeks but it will be letting the fire fighters a bit of a rest. You'll get your rain soon I reckon.

I will try to redirect that rain up to you Leslie. It has finally reached the Central Coast!
I don't think the water tanks are quite at the overflowing state yet, but at least the air is now feeling clean and the grass has had a bit of a drink. It wont crunch under foot tomorrow. That will be nice.
Hopefully some of it will reach the poor farmers, who are so desperate for just a little of it.
Send it down huey!

Some of you may not believe me but we had a VERY light sprinkle on Thurs morning (yesterday) and nothing since.
I'm still watering to save some plants.
It seems it's all going across the Riverland above us at Kingston SE, SA.

I hope that the rainfall in SA is enough to put all those fires out and give the firies a bit of a break.
