A lot of you will know little Elly, she is the dog we "borrowed" from a farm in Macksville some 10 yrs ago and we have doggie sat her ever since when her new mum goes on holiday with her new old man as he doesn't like her in his caravan ppfffft twat, anyway I finally convinced her mum to take her to the vet yesterday as she had a strange cough something like an asthmatic trying to get breath, these little dogs sometimes suffer from a condition known as a collapsing trachea.. so she went to see the vet yesterday and she had some pus coming from her nose and was off her food etc so bloods were taken and she was booked for exploratory surgery today. Her mum & I went to pick her up and see what the news was.. The vet showed us the XR and her heart is double the normal size and also liver is enlarged.. Nose was flushed out and nothing was found but the other issues are the ones to worry about. So she is now here with us for the first day as her mum is useless with giving pills etc'' Elly is on heart medication, steroids for a week, anti biotics and eye cream. Told to go onto a fat free diet but she is already on Kangaroo and cereal food so that is not the problem. Poor wee baby, she is such a loving little girl. Her prognosis is ok for a while till more tests but right now she and Brian are asleep an the chair together again. Brian even washed her gloopy eyes when Elly came home from the vets
. Miss meow also visited the vets but she was booked for her 2nd arthritis injection and she was there and home in 10 minutes.. never a dull moment around here.. now off to the op shop to mop the floors ready for the day the volunteers will be having their first look around the new revamped shop.
