Funny how such a beautiful photo can give you an impression of such 'bliss'.
Then you get told about the mozzies, the crocodiles, the stingers, the snakes, the midges, the humidity ............
Down South we just worry about diving maggies........
(I'd still love to visit you one day Rob!!)

Had finished about an hour before it rained, Dot.
Now we have a problem... leaking from the 4 Seasons hatch. Not sure when it started as it was dripping onto the edge of the doonas on the single beds. Had noticed whilst washing the van that the roof area around the hatch was depressed & water had accumulated from my roof cleaning episode - prior to doing the rest of the van. Now with all the rain falling - & the hatch closed - I'm wondering if that pool of water has increased to become the problem or whether it was the sheer volume of water from the rain - flowing along the roof past the hatch that exacerbated an unknown problem in the vicinity. Dripping from the front internal corners of the hatch - probably because of the slightly nose down attitude of the van.
Slept in the house last night with 2 buckets on a board between the two beds collecting the drips.
But not a lot in the buckets this morning, probably a cup in each.
Have contacted the Crusader dealers at Tuggerah & waiting for a phone call from them as to when they can take a look at it.

A common (known) problem with the new type 4 seasons hatch.
It will have to be resealed, They use a different type of sealer now.
Ive had to have 1 of mine resealed.

Yes, there are some down sides, but eating fresh mangos, reef fishing, mudcrabs, Barra, freshwater swimming holes, redclaw, and did I mention the great weather (well most of the time

) makes up for it.
I don't have a problem with Crocs, we have an understanding, I don't go in their water, and they don't come in my boat. So far it has worked pretty well
You would be welcome to visit anytime, site 2 is usually vacant, Derek may be on site 1

I'm curious about this "V" roof?
Can you please explain what you mean or maybe post a picture of it?
A commom problem with some of the small buses (Mazda, Toyota & Nissan) is that the roof has ridges built in that run lengthwise the length of the roof. Soon as you place an A/C or vent on the roof you block the path for the water to run off easily.

When we bought this van 6 weeks ago they did say that the hatch had been replaced under warranty!
As yesterdays rain is the first we've had I'm now assuming that the sealing aspect may be the problem here... the hatch itself & the sealing around it does look very new.
Just checked the facts as we know them regarding the original purchaser.
He bought it in March 2012 - built in 2011 - did a trip to WA & return over a 6 month period then had the hatch replaced under warranty on their return... around September 2012. So effectively the 12 month warranty does not expire - for the original purchaser only - until March 2013.
Might just drop Crusader an email, giving them the facts & suggesting that - considering the short time frame from the initial purchase, still within the initial 12 month warranty period for the original purchaser ... & it would seem that the same/similar problem has reoccurred, would they be prepared to rectify it.
Guess they can only say no.

Me too, especially considering the hatch was there as a standard feature in the manufacture.
