Dot,
In our Melbourne house we had an IKEA computer desk, the corner one with hutch on top.
When the removalists unloaded it in Rutherglen it was a pile of particle-board fragments.
We told the "Careful Removalists" (as they advertise themselves) to load it back on the truck when everything else was out, and drop by the tip on their way back to Melb... and take the steel pretzels which used to be my shed racking as well.

We were given $300 compensation for both.
That won't even cover the repairs to the wickerwork in the antique commode chair they also damaged!
Good to hear you & Helen didn't succumb to temptation & buy some assemble-yourself furniture... I guess their light fittings would be OK though...

Guess you could stand there all night holding or walking your dog on a leash

Interesting that they specify
"...held by a person at all times."
Friend of ours was in the habit of taking his dog into
'Dog On Leash' area, and wrapping the leash around the dog's neck so he didn't trip on it while roaming free.
His argument
(and he won against a Council Ranger!): "Well, the dog's on a leash. Sign doesn't say I have to hold the other end!"

(Sign was subsequently changed!

)
Sign says "Camping
OR overnight stays..."
If you drove your m/h into the area and sat in it partaking of a sanger at lunchtime, would that qualify as "camping"?

Would boiling the billy for a lunchtime brew qualify?
I would have thought you'd only be considered "camping" if you were there after sunset ...
Come to think of it, if I came across such a sign I'd not only
NOT camp there, I'd bugger off out of the LGA and
never return to spend my $$$ there! That sign's not in Harvey Bay, is it?
When we visited Monkey Mia, came across signs on all beaches saying "Camping fees apply. Phone XXXX for a permit".
Trouble was,
NO mobile phone reception in the area! Didn't stay there, either!
Especially when they wanted $6.00 just to drive in & park by the beach... never mind the fee to see the dolphin
'feeding' (3 fish to 3 dolphins a day!)...

Guess when they say camping not permitted, they are referring to tents, swags or camper trailers??

Perhaps it means you can camp for 48 hours but after that you are really camping?

Sitting in the hairdressers chair nattering away (as you do) and the subject of pain meds came up, hairdresser told me a once was friend of hers asked if he could have a few oxycodone tablets she had for her foot operation a couple of days earlier

she asked what he wanted them for and bugger me the reply was " crush them up and snort them"

needless to say she told him where to go. What have things come to?
