also, see how they are olive colours; are any red they are very rare.
She dabbled in some reds, moving from water colours to mixing some oils with them.
if you're got one with a red mix of oils, it could pay for the bus and some.

the reason why she went to a mix of oils and waters on the same canvas was to try and catch the forgers.
she had an idea some one was doing it but couldn't prove it... so, she used a special technique to mix the paints.
a bit like a salad dressing where it mixes but then separates once on the canvas.
I believe there was a painting in the achibold which tried it too. It almost one the Packers award. But unfortunately the artist hadn't mastered the mixing and the oils didn't dry properly. When it was hung, the oils slipped down the print and made it look like one of those ghost paintings. It neve made the show after that. Something to do with humidity.

Best I can do Jon. The paper is not smooth, it is heavier than normal paper so I am thinking they are not prints as on the backs of 2 of the paintings there is a bit of paint that has oozed?? around the corner?? I might drop into the Adelaide museum art dept for some info. I took some of my dads etchings

there some yrs ago to be restored, they were very helpful. Wish me luck for a nice surprise.. No other writings to be found on any of the pics either.

Dot, they are the ones.
If you look on the back, the US soldiers pressed a little inprint of a Harley Davidson into the paper. The funny thing was, becuase they were in Japan, they had to get it made in Japan. The guy who made it spelt Harley - Harree.
That's was makes them famous. Do your have Harree pressed into them in the picture on the fuel tank? It's really small so you might need George's help to find it.

Before you go to the museum, lets do some more research.
There's a guy I know who does this all the time. He gets some crackpots wanting him to look at stuff that's not worth a penny; so he asks for a small fee to start the research.... I'll send Nigel the prints for you, he may even have a buyer. The good thing is, he just wants a small payment to get started.
It's great that are prints about a fishing village.

Dot,
Good news, this is great. I emailed Nigel, he said if they are matching set of three, they are extremely rare. He's looking though his books now. But, it's going to take a little more effort and time to check it all over. He's a bit busy right now as some bloke it getting him to check out a possible forgery. The queue is long and people are trying to jump in.

No worries at all Jon, thanks. Let me know the $$$ fee. I couldn't find anything about the artist through Mr Google. Interesting.
