The problem with trying to Identify any plant, particularly from a photo, is the common name varies so much from area to area, and it appears that I probably mis-identified it. there is a big stand of Pawlonia just outside Kingaroy heading towards Dalby, the lilac coloured flowers come before the leaves, and look something like wisteria flowers. When they are cropped for stock feed they often do not flower, they can also be grown for timber, maturing in 15 to 20 years at around 12m in height.
