Dot, Is that what they are calling a C double or something like that. Do you know what the GVM might be? And how long is it? Might take a bit of time to overtake, or be overtaken by as well.

Dot, that aint what I would call the truck if it appeared in my rear view mirror!
effing huge trucks do not belong on our city or small town streets. What is wrong with using two smaller trucks and keeping another driver employed? Better still, try the railway lines. They were built for freight and are now often ignored by big companies.

Sadly we demand lower prices for everything and that won't happen when the company has to pay for 2 prime movers instead of one and wages for the team of drivers and maintenance crew required to keep the prime mover on the road for the max time possible so it can drag the trailer. The truck itself makes no money, it is an expense, the trailer full of goods makes the money, if one truck pulls 2 trailers it divides that cost in half, 3 trailers the cost comes down by more than a 1/3rd per trailer because the prime mover size remains the same, the fuel cost only marginally more and the drive train is already built to take the load.
The new electric trucks will change the truck world more than anyone realises, 6 wheel drive and 2,000hp on the ground with max torque available from a standing start. It won't be a matter of passing one of these things, it will be a case of trying to keep up. Truck lanes will be an area to stay away from as they will run you over on the hills, slower vehicles move left will be the cars towing vans and other under powered vehicles
