We went out for the day, went to Victor Harbor looked at a flash retirement place nah too close to each other and way too expensive, then had lunch on the beach before looking at some display homes = nah too badly finished so off to Goolwa and to the over 55's village "Lakeside Goolwa" big project going on there. Not to shabby at all, got the tour all around the place plus heaps of info so there is food for thought there but still a couple more areas to see.. Then headed for home, it has been a bit of a warm one today but the sea breeze in Victor & Goolwa was a nice change. Tourists everywhere though.. Getting set to watch the tennis tonight, I want Roger F to win but I think the de dagger may just win

Those retirement homes are OK for some.
Gotta be wise about how much they ask for up front and how much you get back in the 'end'.
Brother nearly got caught .......... they billed him for new carpet and a new A/C when he left of his own accord.
When he asked for the old carpet & A/C they backed down!
You either get accepted or are given the royal treatment. Old people can be nastier than some young ones!!

It is the type that you own the house and rent the land and also get rent assistance. There is no corp body, any probs are sorted within the management and those involved. You can sell the place yourself if you want to. But there is a lot to think about and lots more to look at. They can't tell you what you can do with the house as it is owned wholly by you... Ha ha yep you are right there Bruce but there is a lovely big heated pool there and bananas are cheap now
