Dot, darling, did you get any of the bond back? The purpose of the bond is for this eventuality, as you know....so the agent was remiss if he/she didn't deduct the cost of cleaning from that!

6pm and we just got back home after a marathon day at the curry hut. I rand consumer and asked if we could put a bill in for the cleaning we have done over and above the other cleaner that didn't have enough hrs to do it properly? Yes was the reply but send an itemised account with times and hrs we were cleaning.. That's easy nearly a week all day every day (not quite) If there isn't enough $$ left in the bond $ after the cleaner, carpet cleaner, garden man, old water bill not paid, the plumbers bill the other manager said we could NOT claim because the blockage was not a sanitary pad ?? duh (another Q I asked consumer) the keys that have not been handed in and a couple of other things, then we write to them (tenants) and ask them to pay for the extra cleaning we had to do and if they refuse we can apply to the tribunal but we just want them to be held accountable for thinking they can do what ever with someone else's property. I have also taken updated pics of "our cleaning" G is going back tomorrow to tidy up a few straggly garden bits but all the nasty stuff has been done.. Well nearly, there was a broken light cover so G had to fix it but when he took the complete thing down he didn't like the electrical wiring so we are getting a sparkie in next Monday to do it properly ( Aren't we good)? Poor wee house looks so sad but she is at least nice and clean for the young lad who works in some caravan place .. Shouting ourselves chinese tonight guess what?? Curried chicken

Dot, you can be my cleaner anytime! Seriously though, I worked In real estate for 5 years after I moved back from Switzerland in 2005 and I know that your experience is far from isolated, sad to say. Hence our reluctance to rent out our house.

Dot you poor things... You have a done a wonderful job.. Ivan worked as a handyman for Rental properties for a number of years and has seen it all, you really have to wonder about some people.

Wow, what a difference a week of slavery does. Don't forget to charge them for the replacement curtains either. Everything must be in as good condition as the day they moved in. Lotsa luck getting that claim paid.

You've done a great job you guys....but it's a bitter pill for having a dose of the tenants frm hell.

And just when I was thinking that all humans were crap along comes the postie bearing a gift from someone I have never met of even spoken to. My batteries in the camera died so these pics do not do this beautiful hand made piece of art justice at all. It is just beautiful in the sunlight and I have had my faith regained in most humans . I shall not mention who the person is that has sent me this beautiful necklace until I get the OK from them but I am sure they will not mind. Thank you once again.
