Just heard on the radio that SA drivers are to receive a $100 decrease in Rego Fees,Wow I wonder if they could assimilate that through to Qld and NSW after years of increases. Not sure of other states but talking with friends/travellers Vic seems to be the cheapest compared to the previously mentioned states.
Cheers Kev.

Think there was something on the tube about NSW CTP getting a $100 haircut, but THIS ARTICLE says;
"The Greens do not support the proposed changes to the CTP Scheme. There are two reasons for this, first the changes will not address the underlying causes of cost increases in the scheme and, second they will deliver substantial cuts to benefits received by many injured road users in NSW."
So we will probably end up with the insurance companies carrying the same amount of fat at the expense of compensation payouts with the injured coping a diet.

Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.

Trust me, the money doesn't go to the accident victims, it goes to the myriad of medico legal specialists and high flying legal eagle companies to write reports favouring the insurance companies not paying the proper compensation to the victim. It is nothing short of legalised racketeering, supported by the govt and forced upon the motoring public. Can you imagine any other way they could get away with not paying out a claim for 8 1/2yrs unless they are supported by the govt?

Re: South Aust Rego Decrease
One of the changes to the SA system was to include drivers of vehicles.
Up until now the DRIVER was not included in any compensation at all. Was only passengers and bystanders.
There are many people with lifelong injuries that (till now) get no payouts to cover any injuries. (lost eyes, lost limbs, para or quadra - plegics etc)
Apparently the reduction is only for 12 months before the new scheme kicks in. Then it'll be back to around the same........ if you believe them.
