OK, I admit I have very few facts in this case but I heard them say all the older charges are involving a 15-16 yr old?
Excuse me but everyone knows a lot of girls are sexually active now days at 14 or even earlier. Look up the births for those under 17? That's only the ones that "fell pregnant"! Fell? Fell? What's this "fell" stuff anyway? Did they fall of a ladder & get impregnated on the way down?
The charges were "indecent assault" ... not sexual assault or sex with a minor. So did he smack her or pinch her nipple or what?

There's going to be some embarrassed prosecutors in this case I reckon.

Hmmm.... the offences happened between 1980 and 1986, the "victims were 14 and 15 yrs old at the time..... so they were 20 and 21 when the offences were still occurring???
It's still unknown what he actually 'did', possibly even to the "victims" themselves. 30 yrs or more ago, what you believe happened 30yrs ago in your own mind has no guarantee it's all fact. If it was written down within days of it occurring, that would be close to what the "victim" experienced, but 30 yrs later is more what the "victim" has built it into in their own mind and now they firmly believe that as fact.
If these now 40 plus yr old women really feel their lives have been shattered by previous events when they were 14 yrs old, I hope they get help for it, if it's a pay back or a fabrication I hope they get double the torment they put their "victim" through. If this whole thing is an out of control beat up and fabrication, what will the punishment be for all those involved, innocent until proven guilty, that's a crock of shitte when it comes to these type cases. What hope does an 83yr old entertainer have of remembering every thing that happened nearly 30 yrs ago as clear as a bell if this is really a twisted version of what really happened?
If solid evidence comes out then this case has solid legs to stand on, but the fact they have been "investigating" since before last Nov or longer says to me they have little solid evidence at all.

I was 14 yrs old and remember every beer bottle shattering moment and that was over 45yrs ago, maybe the MEN that assaulted me don't remember but I surely do and that event has effected my adult life, even contributed to the way I think on subjects today like drunks and abusive men. I cover it well don't I?

I have my own story of being accussed for something that didn't actually happen, it shattered my life, I have lost contact with 2 of my kids as a result so I still have the scars, every story has two sides.....
What if I was to twist the story of the joke at Kerang into a sexual assault, 30 yrs from now, how do you think you would go defending yourself then... only be worth it if you win lotto though does that mean you'll stop buying lotto tickets to defend yourself from attack

Everyone should be very careful of taking sides in a case they nothing about, people can and do get hurt when the typing finger is let loose without the brain being in gear

Iza I pointed out it wasn't a SEXUAL assault that he was charged with & I didn't trivialise anything really.
It wasn't even a charge of "assault causing actual bodily harm".
I am familiar with quite a few of the terms of these charges & what they do in fact mean.

Anyway we will wait & watch as it plays out in court.

In this case it was the daughters who by then were living with the ex firmly believed the story put forward by the niece, no one bothered to put the dates together to figure out I was being accused of come up from behind and fondling her breasts with both hands.... when she was 8 yrs old, the breasts were certainly there when she was 14 yrs old and telling the story but not 6 yrs before when it was supposed to have happened
