Bruxner Hwy

Post by Busman »

Anyone been over the Bruxner Hwy lately ?
Looked at it on Google Earth. seems a few twists and turns.
Would you take a 40 foot coach and trailer over this road ?
Thanks

We've travelled it with the coach and toad Bill, no problems.

The last time I was on it you would not have any trouble, but would not be much fun with a 6 92 Detroit.

TTA would help a NA version Bob?
Anything from 250 to 330HP depending on nozzles and other tweaks?

Thanks all,
So I gather that the corners aren't too bad, but from Bob's comment, must be a few hills ?
Will have the water injection by then, if I get time will look at propane as well.

Well I have discussed bigger injectors with CPF who do work on VP, but equates to more heat to get rid off, plus less economy, so have shelved that idea. If twin turbos fell off the back of a truck, and my misting idea works, maybe. I find all the 2 stroke torque is between 2000 and 2500 rpm, once you get below 2000 you are grabbing for the stick. The guy I posted about before did some runs each way x twice with his propane on and off and motor definitely ran cooler on the runs where he had the propane on.
Very small amount to get a benefit it seems.

2150 should be top revs.
They are a bit different to the 53's revving to 3000.

Well CPF are Detroit Specialists and that is what they set it at last tune up, I have no problem taking it to 2500 when going up through the gears, at 2100 it is barely on 100 kph.
