SWMBO had to to just that - except the distance required was 12" or less - when she went for her Heavy Rigid at age 25 (for a school coach) in the 1970s... The male teachers who were tested at the same time didn't have to do this.
The tester didn't believe women should be entrusted with a 44 passenger coach & the lives of students on board! I think he wanted her to drive along the highways behind a man waving a red flag.

Used to love um parking in front of the old MACK, hit the air start at about 5 in the morning if that didn't shift um the v8 at 1000 revs

Hi All.
We were parked near mc donald at the B.P Goondiwindi truck stop this M.H. come in had a look but did not want park near us so over the back he went where the trucks park next day he was not happy i wonder why.
Back to the tree near the park spot....., some years ago when I had a bus, I could not drive up my street without being forced to the middle of the carriageway because of tree branches. All it took was a call to the council regarding the profile of the trees and they were trimmed the next day. First time I actually thought that councils had value! I gave them a 'well done'. BobK
I had to reverse around a corner and only allowed 1ft out from the kerbing all the way (mirrors only Then there was the parallel parking test:( but hey I made it in one go but will NEVER put myself through that drama / trauma ever again
Queen of the Banal & OT chatter and proud of it. If it offends you then tough titty titty bang bang.

You and SWMBO should swap tales next time...
You are going to be in real trouble now for mentioning SWMBO has a tail, and what makes you think they can be swapped anyway?
