Peter do you mean to change one or to add an extra one to the line?
Do you think the existing one isn't doing the job properly?

Not sure if that's the same as the HZ motor in a Troopy?
There are several members on here with Coasters so I reckon they'll pop in shortly.
Do you have a model year? & any other details you might have?

Peter, It is pretty simple, just unscrew the one fitted to the fuel line, on a 1HZ it is inside the chassis rail on the passenger side about level with the back of the door. Make sure that the replacement looks the same then just unscrew it. Make sure that the neoprene seal ring came off with the old one, then lubricate the new one with some of the diesel that will have spilled and screw it on. There is a little knob thing on the top of the filter housing, undo that a few turns and it sort of pops up and you can pump it a few times to expel any air that is trapped there, then push the plunger all the way in and screw it back down. Wipe up all the fuel and run the engine for maybe 5 minutes before you take it for a drive. Check for any leaks and all finished.
Hint: Do not be directly underneath the filter housing when you unscrew it as fuel will leak out.
Cheers

Thankyou David. I wasn't sure if it had 2 filters there? I think on the Landcruiser there are 2? Pre-filter & main side by side.

Bruce, Ours is a '93 HZB 50 I think. There is a sticker on the drivers window that tells you how to bleed it if you are unlucky enough to pick up any water in the fuel. Definitely only one filter on our model.
