Last time I was there was on a postie bike, first time to the Simpson. Still pulls at me every winter, damn red dust.......
Big Red Bash was a drawcard for this year but so far the organisers have stubbornly refused to take on lowly food providers like one-self. No matter how much I try to bribe them. Might have to actually buy a ticket

We just came up the Birdsville Track last week towing 4.5T fifth wheeler.
Very little traffic and road is is pretty good nick, with no corrugations.
That will change once the tourist season starts late March (I am told).

Why do you ask ask, what are your concerns ?
Track conditions, suitability for a particular van, day time temperatures, or how many lizards on the track, or just looking for some company...... ?
Last time we did it it was like a Melbourne CBD road,..........no big deal any more...................

Travelled along a few Melbourne CBD road on Saturday so hopefully the Birdsville track is in better condition and the trains don't run up the middle of the road
Melbourne roads might not be perfect but you can bet they'll be still working on them next time you pass through
