I'm hesitant to make it mandatory (Must?) to include certain detail in your profiles on the forum so others can more easily identify who it is that they are replying to.
Sometimes a person might ask for help to solve a problem. It's hard to advise which shop to go to or who to talk to in person if their whereabouts isn't known.
I'd like to encourage everyone to take a look through their control panel to discover some of the info that can be included.

If you look at some of the other members profiles you can see what you can add or change.
I find the signature very handy .......... you never need to ever finish a post with your name or 'ditty'. (some are quite clever)

Yep, me too.
I reckon a first name is much more personal.
No need for it to be in/as a username, (mine is) just 'sign-off' with your first name or as Bruce suggests, put it in your signature to be included in every post you make.

I always use my name, but still get referred to by my User name. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth doing...
