Those I know in the USA tell me they don't know what's going to happen next, trump's still trying to change the results so we have to wait until the 14th of December when the electoral college elects the president. H. Clinton won the popular votes but lost the presidency and electoral college delegates can change from the popular vote to the losing candidate, that's what trump is pushing for. The courts don't seem to be supporting him in the important states, but he has stacked the supreme court which is the ultimate decider in the USA. The games not over until the electoral college says so and trump has said when the electoral college elects the president and it's not him, he will leave the white house. But if you believe trump, you'd believe the earth is flat.

‘Coz he’s The Prez.
The Yanks have handed their Head Honcho amazing powers, with very few checks and balances.
Viz: the power to grant pardons which can’t be questioned or appealed.
And he retains full Presidential powers between the election of his successor and the Inauguration: two months!
Plenty of time for mischief if the outgoing President is of a mind to... which The Clown obviously is.
Compared with the Australian system, where government goes into ‘caretaker mode’ once an election is announced, limiting what the outgoing government can do, and transfer of power is immediate, once a clear winner is declared.
And don’t get me started on the Yanks’ Electoral College system!
I think our system is safer and more equitable.

Trump lost his appeal in Pennsylvania and is now taking it to the supreme court which he has stacked and put in a rabid fervent right wing nutter. So it will be interesting to see what happens there, the fun ain't over yet by a long shot.

I believe his problems there will rest on the electoral college vote being already cast or not ..... George W only got in against Al Gore because the electoral college vote had not been cast because multiple recounts blocked the path. Then he got the stacked Supreme court to stop the vote count when he was winning. Once the vote was completed, Al Gore had actually won the Florida vote and would have become president elect ...... Donald is attempting to do the same thing.
The crazy thing here is, Pennsylvania is only worth 20 electoral college votes, Donald needs 39 votes to call an upset that could then go back to the courts or even back to the voters if the constitution is shown to have been violated ...... once bitten twice shy might be the case for the supreme court judges, caught cheating the will of the people a second time will not go well for them .....

What worries me is no matter who wins, both Democratic & Republican sides have heavily armed rabid supporters!

I'd imagine the radicals from each side will go further radical and form their own parties, back by the gun mobs to offset the chances either major parties try to bring in gun control. They donate a lot of money to the political parties

I guess we should stop from pointing out Donald's crazy ravings ....... those that did support Donald must be very embarrassed now he seems to becoming even more unhinged and it would be a bit like rubbing salt into the wound to highlight the progress.

Seems the "flu" problem isn't going away, the US daily death count announced today @ 2800 is staggering and those that seem to be in the know say it will get a lot worse.
Even though there are big claims about a proven vaccine, Britain has not approved it as the news folk seems to claim, they have given it an emergency approval for use to aid the most vulnerable at their own risk ...... Full approval isn't expected until next yr, possibly even as late as March and only if it is actually proven to be more beneficial than harmful.
The vaccine will only help those not infected, there is no cure as such so those infected will either recover using their own bodies defences, albeit controlled by medication to stop the over reaction, or they aren't strong enough to over come it and it kills them. Sadly, there is still a lot of hurt ahead before things might start to improve for the USA.

Extended family member who self-declares as a Trump support is still posting You Tube videos of Rudi ranting at congressional hearings. The clip is supposed to "prove" that widespread voter fraud is real because Rudi says it is.

Apparently, one American is going wheels up every 30 seconds. Same extended family member is still convinced Trump is doing a "tremendous" job handling the pandemic.

Got to feel for these tossers though. They have backed themselves into a corner by publicly declaring support for the Clown. The loss of face that would come with a backdown and concession is likely to big to bear.
