Hi, I had inlections of "Lucentis" when I was getting them.
I have an appointment on Thursday this week with my optomologist as my opticion suspects the bleed has started again.

There are some not so good side effects from lucentis and the results they get are not very good either, but all medical drugs come with adverse side effects, that's why I avoid them as much as possible. For those interested, these links say a lot about the drug and its associates. Like all links to medical data, they differ in some ways, but are a good indication of that can occur. This includes a small number of deaths from having it administered, though not a lot. I never take any drug until I have checked it and alternatives out.

Terry, in my weird approach to life, it seems to me that if a drug can reduce the problem, even if just for a short time, there must be a natural way of reducing it much more, or reversing it. In this case, as you haven't had it all your life, there has to be a cause, unless it's hereditary. To my way of thinking, that means looking for the cause may be the right way to go and that cause should either be in diet lifestyle or environmental. But I look at life very differently to others, which results in most thinking I'm crazy and from their view of the world, would agree, but my form of crazy has kept me alive when was told not possible and allowed me to be at the age of 75, fit healthy and raring to go.

Although at this point in time, to bloody wet to go frolicking through the bush  . We've had over 100mm in the last 2 days and this is the 4th day it's been raining almost non stop. Sadly relegated my gumboots to the past a few years ago and now need them :(

It may well be hereditary, but as I'm the oldest survivor of my branch of the blood line there is no way of knowing. I wasn't exactly careful with what I put into my body, both legal and not drugs, lots of alcohol etc, so this could be pay back for lifestyle choice, but odds on it is just another thing cause by the motor vehicle accident. Every specialist has commented that if it really happened the way I explained it I should be dead, the doctors on my side said it did explain all the physical damage, the insurance doctors just claimed I made it up .....

Yes, we can never tell where our ailments come from and alcohol can have a very detrimental effect on us when it's misused. For more than 25 years, there wasn't a day where I wasn't pissed and stoned by the end of it. The music industry seems to run on grog and drugs, which at one point looked like sending me into the abyss and it took years of not drinking to get back some sanity and good health. Now I drink 2-3 times a year at some festivals I go to and not when I'm playing, that's when I catch up with other muso friends and party a bit on black beer, preferably Guinness but there are some really good craft beers around.

Hope you can work it out and get some decent vision back, as well as good health.

I know what is like to be considered a crank when you go against the accepted system, and really often it is something we often feel it is how we can control our lives.
I have to do all my own research as my doctors dont know anything about my problems and dont want to know.
Even the neurologists I have seen are basically unaware of what is does and how it effects me, so gives a lot of confidence in their decisions. All have had to google when I tell them what it is.
I had the test to confirm a positive after a junior trainee at a city optical clinic thought she remembered she had seen the symptoms described while doing her studies, but after that I have been on my own.
The drugs they gave me were worse than the complaint and their side effects were tremendous and I decided I did not want to go there.
I now get all the info from a self help group on FB for the disease as well as youtube and google, and I research any and all drugs , tests and treatments suggested and have a spread sheet where I store all the info as I gather it.
The body has a great capacity to heal or protect itself if we help and take precautions, but when I tried to discuss my findings with the doctors they laugh and throw their hands in the air and say "just take the drugs and keep increasing till they work". Well I was up to three times the permitted limit and still getting worse so I stopped and started treating my self from the info I found, and even though still not real great I am able to function reasonably well doing the day rather than having about a 30 minute window before the S**t hit the fan. There is no medical assistance in SA that I can find and the only place I can go is a research hospital in QLD that I am corresponding with, as they are planning a research program following what I have done, several people in our group have change to what I did and all have reported great results and are able to stop or reduce their drugs/ steroids or surgery.
I know going against the doctors is not advisable for many, and also the doctors soon dont want to know you, but, when you get desperate there seems no other option.
When I discussed the "deep swim option" my doctor just laughed and said he had worse of than me, just keep taking the drugs.
I know diet helps and many of us had no or little control over our lifestyles etc when growing up and in our working environment but I do get a bit angry when I try and advise the doctors of research that is freely available and they refuse to discuss or accept as it was not the norm when they did their training and for a rare disease they dont want to spend the time to find out.
My doctor refuses to accept there is such a system as the Endocannabinoid system (ECS) or cannabinoid receptors (CBRs) in our bodies and that we have 2 parts of the brain to process the cannabinoid proteins that our bodies produce. That is the area where I am working on.

Bruce,
Dunno if it’s heredity or luck or good hygiene training as a child... no matter which, all mine are OEM. 😁
And I still have a mouthful. πŸ˜ŽπŸ€πŸ˜€

O’course, I do have four fillings.

That's excellent Ray.

My teeth are shot; poor hygiene (?) but I also think the dentist I had as a kid filled his wallet by via unnecessary fillings.

I experienced similar Jon, each time I was sent to the dentist he found a tooth that required a filling and then he picked at the enamel of another so that it would need filling during my next enforced visit.
