Spring has sprung!

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Spring has sprung a leak over this way ... it even came down as very fine hail in upper Mannum leaving a white layer over the gravel and the Prius before we got a chance to park it in the shed. Poor Jimny needs a battery to get him going so he could be put under cover and the person who would be given that job wasn't real keen on getting wet, cold and belted with hail ... so I'm looking out the window hoping the hail doesn't get any bigger .....

Dunno if Spring is a thing up here in FNQ. Got 0.8mm in the gauge 2 nights ago. First in months.
Irrigation channel water has seen the Mulberry tree turn from a big bare stick into a lush green tree with heaps of developing fruit that the Figbirds, Bower birds & White-bellied Cuckoo-Shrikes seem to enjoy before they are sweet. Hoping they'll leave some for us. Mango trees have blossomed & the baby mangoes are developing. In 6 or 8 weeks I expect we'll be in a mango glut.

Vegie's are coming on.

Without the irrigation channel I reckon we'd be in virtual desert, but have been able to maintain a little green around us.

We think the season has changed/is changing. Starting to warm up. Gave the Doona the flick two nights ago. Shouldn't need it for another 10 or 11 months.

34 degrees today whilst home in Ballarat has snow. Different worlds.

Please send rain.

Lovely day here in upper Mannum today, hard to believe the weather we had for the last 3 days and end up with a day like this .... but it is spring so ......
we tried that "Doona in the cupboard" thing Cuppa, near froze when the weather went pear-shaped and had to collect blankets from around the house and sleep with the elecy blanket on low 8-)
