We gave up growing grass...

A lot of us have homes we spend some time in. Discussions can be about any topic that may be of interest that you can think of... renovations, purchases, expenses, etc, etc

Years ago we drove the Outside Track between Innamincka & Birdsville.
(In the Coaster. Tough little bugger, we treated it almost as a 4WD.)
The only was to tell the roadway/track from the paddocks was the tyre tracks.
The only thing you could grow out there was old.

When my sister was still alive, the family lived on a road that ended in a Cotton Gin. It was so dry and dusty and the area virtually abandoned, truckies would wander off the road at night and end up in the dry creek bed, miles from the road. The kids would see the lights heading across the paddocks from their bedroom window ....The BIL reckoned he spent more time dragging trucks out with the tractor than he did working the farm property near by ... and the property owner reckoned it was the best income he'd had for yrs .... they didn't let on how much per truck to drag them out, but the property owner wouldn't have gone lightly on them if he held true to his reputation

Well, at least when they got to the end of the road, the truckies could have a Gin.
