Warick Capper wasn't it ..... or was he the field ballet player who wore his shorts so tight he couldn't fart until he took them off

Punching, shirt fronting, elbows to the head ..... and not even close to where the ball is .... sounds like
AFL to me ;) Can you imagine an NRL game with that many players and umpires on the ground at the same time ..... they'd have to line up like they were playing British Bulldog ..... but on both sides .... they wouldn't need to pass the ball but more hand it to the bloke beside them

Let's face it, if an AFL player was tackled the way NRL players are tackled, the game wouldn't ever get going because they'd be carting them off the field in stretchers after each ball challenge ..... those long skinny necks would end up with the head popping off the top like ice cream from a cone with the impact the tackling player hits the ball carrier to stop them from simply running them over .... yet it still takes more than one tackler to stop them in most cases ..... they are that strong and powerful even the little NRL players are big boys ......
As for the running distance, if the NRL players were allowed to tackle the AFL players like they do in NRL, they wouldn't have to run much at all  They could just pick the twigs up ball and all and kick them between the posts 8-)

If you watched any of the close NRL games over the last few weeks, if they had awarded a point for being close either side, the loosing team would have been the winning team .....
Maybe I should change my signature to "close is only good with lawn bowls, hand grenades and AFL kicks :P

We can tell the NRL players 'cos they have no necks. Is that it? :?

There's a strong chance Ash may play AFL, she is a dedicated tigers supporters and has hinted in the past she would love to play AFL. but as she seems to be in a happy relationship that may take precedent over sport.

Not that you can see, it's all muscle so they don't break their collarbone in a tackle. Having a short neck is really an essential for playing NRL, reduces the chance of being coathangered in a tackle, but they have tightened the rules about head high tackles to the stage the offender can end up being sent off, but definitely puts them on report to face the tribunal to see if they have a case to answer and if they get a longer suspension from the game.

The fact more people attend AFL games than NRL games might be to do with the TV coverage actually being better than being there in person for NRL ..... but the feel of being at the game is electric all the same. More people attend soccer games around the world than any other ball sport ..... but that doesn't make it a better game does it? ;)
