Hope that isn't polystyrene Vik, some types eat the insulation off electrical cables and all of it squeaks like crazy. The pitiful bits you see in "insulated RVs" is very thin so it doesn't touch the panels and cut/torn away anywhere close to where wiring goes.
We insulated the back half of our big bus project with sheets of polystyrene that we had tested for 6 mths with electrical cable sandwiched between sheets of it to ensure it was safe as far as that aspect goes, just walking in the big bus you can hear the stuff squeak ... we did the front half ceiling cavity with a bubble wrap type insulation layered either side with aluminium foil, two layers with a sheet of postage type bubble wrap sandwiched in the centre and the edges sealed using foil insulation tape.
The difference in temp is quite noticeable between the front and back of the bus, the bubble wrap stuff is much cooler/warmer than the polystyrene insulated area.
