Dot, when i was young i was told that a "gentleman" always rests on his elbows" and keeping in line with that statement, I always let my elbows rest on the office table when I type on the laptop. I must be a "gentleman" following that theory. I'm sure there are others on the forum.
Another consideration is that the term: Men of the army, Gentlemen of the Cavalry.
