Letting off steam
Need to let off steam where famiky does not see. This weekend was supposed to be 3 children plus all but 2 grandies for my next decade birthday. Mitchell just rang saying he has had to cancel his back surgery tomorrow as well as the weekend as he has bloody covid. Because he remote and asthmatic he seeing Dr to get the antiviral tablets. Louise and her famiky did not make it up 5 years ago for our Golden anniv .,! We just beginning to think we not meant to get a full family photo. Mitchells daughter decided to stay at Whistlers Canada for a white Christmas. Louises husband and son flst out harvesting at Narrabri before the next rain comes. Had my vent so bye all. Sure miss all of you. Stay safe wherever you might be travelling. We both told Sophie she should have her White Christmas and Covid cannot be helped but we were so looking forward to this weekend.

Re: Letting off steam
Know how you feel Kay. With the way the flooding in NSW and Vic is and what seems like a bit of disinterest from those in Melbourne, we’ve decided to go as far as Eden and then turn around and head back home. We might fly to Melbourne for Xmas or later. Will see how it goes. The weather (wind and cold) has been awful. Came down the Bulli Pass today towing the Suzi. That was a bit of fun!

Not disinterest, but just worn out. Remember, we are still getting over 2 years of lockdown. And now a lot of people with their new sparklie homes are under interest rate duress. With the way the flooding in NSW and Vic is and what seems like a bit of disinterest from those in Melbourne,

Not referring to you Jd or other forum members but rather family members.

Ahh. sorry, I thought is was a general reference to those in Melb. My bad. Although, (like probably most others) we are a bit over everything going on.

All good! Life’s a bit of a challenge these days. It’s difficult to maintain the equilibrium. I don’t think things will go back to the way they were, which is sad.

Re: Letting off steam
Kay,
Lots of us in the same boat.
Hadn’t seen our only granddaughter for nearly two years.
Went to Melbourne to buy our new car, stayed overnight with Son-&-Heir… happened to be Mum’s turn to have her for the week!
Had to make a special request for her to visit us for the evening!!
Unlikely to see her (or S-&-H & partner) until after Christmas.
We’re planning a very quiet Christmas this year… just us two.

I know these things hurt the usually "close" families but the younger ones of today don't really think of what special occasions mean to us oldies, their lives are so important (or so they think) Kay, you and Bruce have your special day together and when the family are within cooee have a pic taken and pretend. x

Circumstances uncontrolable to all caused our problem, not families not wanting to attend. Sorry about no Melb Christmas Lesley but Tracey? here in Bris. If you coming home up the coast please call in.

We are very lucky to have both our sons living close, eldest son with the 4 young g'sons next door but one, younger son 15minutes away, g'daughter 21 last Sunday lives at home & eldest g'son 25 lives with his partner about 7 minutes away, we see them all regularly especially the young lads this is their second home, we love having them all close & feel for people who live far apart, certainly a different lifestyle, we are spoilt, It.
