More work done today but no pic's.
Ran the wire's from the battery to the solar controller, "P" of a job upside down and on my back along the chassis then up thru the cupboard the houses the controller. They are not connected as yet.
Also changed a cupple of pipes to the two water tanks, I have had a phantom leak some where. I did find one utilux clamp that was rusty and when I removed the pipe there was water between the pipe at the tap, so I hope that it has fixed that little problem. Time will tell.

Also had the road worthy done yesterday, all good next week it will have Qld plates and in my name.

Good stuff Bernie.
I'm not familiar with what solar regulator you have there but I'm assuming (hoping?) that that voltage is before the regulator.
20.1V even seems plenty anyway.
What does it say the battery voltage is? Do you have a link to the regulator?

Yes Boss that's from the Solar at moment 19.5 depends on how much the over cast is.

Hi, all.

BernieQ - my current understanding is that the charge rate showing on a regulator indicates the amperage required to bring up the battery voltage. Therefore a high charge rate indicates low batteries or substantial draw. As a test, the Apple(rated at 6.5amps) was switched off,the battery voltage was way up there, and the charge rate was 2.5amps. Turned the Apple back on and the rate shot up to about 8-9amps.
Some time ago the system installer, upon being told the two 7amp rated panels were kicking out 15.5amps, stated the panels were working very well indeed, not that the batteries were flat. Hmmm.

Current understanding, get it??

Hi Shonky, all the quoted volts are off my multimeter not the controller.
The solar controller I have does not give me this info.
I as yet don't have a ammeter installed its on the list, I have the shunt in only at this time.

One day I'll get someone to explain how a shunt works. Sounds rude to be......
Comeon Bernie, tell us the brand of controller?
I thought they all have a display?
