Good news about my (Bruce's) op

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Good news about my (Bruce's) op

Post by BruceS »

Well a bit of news.
Today, 15th Dec I was scheduled for gall bladder removal at the Royal Adel Hosp. RAH.
Had to be there at 7am.
Because I'm diabetic I got put on top of list.
About 10am in theater & in no time I was 'out'.
11:20 I caught a glimpse of a clock in recov room.
In la la land for a while but by 1:30 I was ready for discharge ..... no! I mean released from hos Dot!
By 2:30 I was ready for cricket.
All good so far, no pain relief needed.

You did well Bruce, remember to take things a bit easier for a week or so, did you keep your stones? And admit it did you have a little nap this afternoon?

Great news Bruce, I'm guessing it was keyhole surgery with the three small cuts that didn't need a stitch ..... did/do your shoulders and neck ache? mine did and I thought I must have fallen off the table and they dragged me back by my arms or something  Apparently, it's the nitrogen bubbles getting in the joints after they blow you up like a balloon to make room to do what ever it is they do in there.

I wonder what side effects (if any) you will discover, mine was I instantly became lactose intolerant, I thought it was coffee and took 15 yrs or more to discover it was the milk in the coffee

Thanks Terry.
No pain at all except when a little coughing effected the bellybutton one.
I brought a box of Panadol with me & the hospital wrote out 2 scripts for very strong pain killers. (for Margaret maybe? lol)
Tried to put the name of it in here but banned! e n d o n e ?

I haven't needed Panadol even!
What a lovely experience I had. Some of the most cheerful people I've met!
Wish more around the Marina were like that!
Are you coming down on Monday? For RAH for Margaret?
I hope to be on my way home Sun morn to avoid the traffic a bit & so I can avoid some of those bloody inspection holes in the roads. I can't believe how bad some of them are! I'll also be able to travel on the fast lane on the freeway to avoid some of the damage the trucks have done over the years.
Hopefully I can get back to greasy sausages & chops again!

Great news Bruce. :D
It wouldn't matter what lane you travelled in if you on east coast. They're all full of potholes.

Certainly is good news Bruce, in, out & home for Christmas & sounds as though you’re recovering ok, take it easy & rest for awhile.
