Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dot, lucky you are able to escape if you want to. TV? Not even with all the channels on foxtel, there is still buggert all to watch. His Nibs is watching all the old "It's a good life" series. Stay warm xxxx

Our premier, Gladys, has said that she will not be giving the exact length of the next lock down until her press conference tomorrow morning. Sick of her fiddle farting around. Anyway, tonight, the Sydney morning herald, has as it's headline, that we are going to be in lockdown for another month. How do they get to print "facts" even before they can actually be facts? Obviously this is all wearing a bit thin here.

Nothing to show from the kiln today. It decided not to work last night and listed it as a power fail again. I tried a few more things and maybe it should work better. It was working when I left it earlier. To say I getting a bit fed up, is a an understatement.

nighty night xxx

Unfortunately Bruce was late starting on the medication for the shingles, he'd had the rash for nearly a week along the muscle on the top of his arm, under the arm & on to his chest, it was just a pink tiny rash, wasn't itchy but he had complained it was sore, never had a rash that was sore before was his statement, the result now is it is really painful, the rash itself is almost gone.
Looks like we'll be in for another month locked down, Glad will let us know at 11am today, whatever will be will be. :D

Shirley,
If the pain is bad, sometimes a very hot face washer laid across the skin helps alleviate the pain.

Thanks jon-d, I'll get him to try the hot washer, hurts to move his arm.

Wish the westerly winds would subside, they are so cold, we have waves across the lake today, at least we do have sunshine.

We were only away for 1 hr tonight for our 2nd CV jabs. 20 minutes there, 20 mins jabs and wait time. 20 mins home, not bad. No roos or any other night stalkers on the road so I was pleased. Have a lady coming to prune the fruit trees tomorrow, hope she is as good as the prev man who has now retired. I had some cheesy pasta for tea, waste of time and effort, took forever to get it down all for no taste whats so ever. so sick of this crap. Today's O games have been crappy to say the least, soccer, hockey, a kick boxer or something crying because she lost ( said she was wanting gold for the brother she had never known ) sad her bro had died but if my child did that pretty sure I would of told him not to be a sore loser) and replays after replays of replays Can't be bothered with it any more. I wonder how many will return with the "fake" virus.? Time to give Brian his pill and me to bed so goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Norman x :D Take care everyone

Good to see that you are semi protected from the nasties Dot. It must be somewhat safer to get out and about after all that. xxxx

Shirley, poor Bruce. I had a really bad dose of shingles and they gave me an antiviral drug. It did help a lot but I do wonder why such a drug wouldn't work on the dreaded covid? Bad luck about being stuck at home for another month.

I spent a lot of today contacting caravan parks and festival organisers, to cancel our bookings. This is not an easy thing for us. It is my only spending money for my glass and of course , it's our annual escape from home and my shed.

This is the lovely black plate that I spent yesterday grinding off the sharp bits and now it wont need to go back in the kiln.

Inside the kiln, with some bits of chalk to give it an interesting edge. One of the bits of chalk has moved, so it really is quite organic looking.

The two finished girly plates. One just plain and the other with the organic edge.

SO yes, Dot, I am still working. Only to keep me from going completely mad.
night all xxx

I was unlucky enough to get the shingles last October. On my head and into my right eye, I still have the itch and was told by one doctor because of my age,,,May have it forever...was not the answer I was hoping for...gave him a F word to display my displeasure.
My right eye will always be beggared.

Yes, shingles near the eye is a disaster. I still get a droopy eye lid from when I had shingles in my early 30's.

It affect the nerve endings terribly, and hence the optical nerve is affected. Any sign of a funny small unexplained rash needs very fast attention. The antiviral tablets are only effective in the first 72 hours or so.

Bernie sorry the shingles has left you with the problem eye, Bruce just has the pain, l'm hoping that may subside in time but have read that it can continue for months/years.

Jon_d never to old to learn, the rash was smaller than a pin head, definitely should of gone to the Dr earlier, it was actually looking better by the time our Dr saw it, only one small blister amongst it, think it was a waste of time taking the medication.

We've just spent the last 5 hrs at the hospital, he had a nose haemorrhage, Dr chemically corterised it, Bruce had it corterised in May by a specialist, fingers crossed, gone to bed now.🙏

The plates look great Deborah, again would be a unique gift, sorry that you won't get to attend gem fest, maybe next year, this lockdown is a real pain but necessary.

Better say an early goodnight.  seeing as it is the tread.
